At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Data Center Engineer supporting Department of State Commercial Solutions for Classified deployment, you will be trusted to work on cyber innovative and future solutions. In this role, a typical day will include:
Collaborating with Department of State to implement Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Mobility Access (MA) Capability Package (CP)
Developing related documentation and training materials
Interacting with employees, vendors, and other internal technical teams to resolve technical issues
Evaluating, installing, configuring, and managing data center COTS products
Ability to contribute to and work with a high performing team in a collaborative effort.
Support change management tasking relative to the security policies associated with the endpoint security solutions that you support.
Work closely with your manager to ensure tasks are executed on time.
Ensure documentation relative to the supported data center products, procedures, services, etc., are written and centrally accessible.
Create and monitor reporting for compliance.
Ability to understand & troubleshoot complex situations and apply solutions successfully without reducing the security posture of the company.
Supply expert knowledge in the move or fit-out of a new classified data center instance.
Provide and drive extensive server/appliance racking, installing and baseline configuration hands on support.
Have extensive knowledge of the requirements for establishing and maintaining a SCIF approved data center instance.
Be able to manage the project from requirements gathering through to final authorization of the center to operate.
Have experience with redundancy and load balancing across multiple data center locations.
Design, build, maintain, monitor, and support infrastructure environments and data center facilities.
Act as technical liaison between the IT Infrastructure team and Business owner to provide insight into upcoming implementations and strategies including validation of ongoing solutions supportability.
Work across teams to ensure IT system upgrades, deployments and maintenance are conducted with minimal impact to the operation.
Continuously monitor and evaluate IT Infrastructure security, providing ongoing recommendations and reporting any issues when appropriate.
Participate in design, implementation and execution of backup and disaster recovery.
Define, implement, and monitor solutions and tools that automate and alert on systems and network performance and issues.
Plan, develop, organize, write, edit, and keep current documentation including project plans, project proposals, technical operation documentation, procedure documentation, network diagrams, data flow diagrams, technical support documentation, and scope of work documentation.
Complete risk management tasks for areas of responsibility or as assigned including but not limited to: required risk assessments are completed and revisited at required intervals; all vendor management due diligence, risk assessments, monitoring and other documentation is completed for new and existing technology vendors as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelors degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 6 years in Information technology field. Additional years of relevant experience and/or technology certifications may be considered in lieu of degree. This should include 2+ years of data center move-in experience.
Must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance at time of hire
Experience racking and installing PowerEdge R240/R640, Unity XT 380 NAS, Avocent ACS, Cisco DNA, Juniper SRX, Cisco Catalyst, Firepower, ForcePoint, VMware, and other standard CSfC approved servers and appliances.
