Tasks include:

  • Research, test, and make recommendations for new software technologies
  • Conduct configuration management
  • Use both new and existing software packages
  • Ensure all new software introduced to the network meets all applicable guidelines and work in the current operating environment
  • Provide initial problem identification, trouble ticket submission, and operational user assistance and direction to resolve real or perceived software problems.
  • Support shall include telephone access, voicemail reset, email troubleshooting and chat capabilities.
  • Input any actions taken regarding issues into the Trouble Ticketing Tracking System spreadsheet (changing to SharePoint).
  • Record and document all instances in support of customers using Government approved tools and processes. While resolving a software problem, provide daily status updates. Upon problem resolution, input an update into the NMUSA Computer Issues and Help Tickets Log System.
  • Provide desktop technical support to the Government for NMUSA commercial network and the exhibits galleries on a daily basis. The NMUSA personnel environment consists of approximately 70-80 users.
  • Obtain approval for all software changes
  • Acquire, test, and install systems software updates. Systems software tests and installations shall normally be performed during scheduled system test periods.
  • Evaluate vendor-supplied updates or patches for applicability.
  • Implement system software releases.
  • Security and STIGs
    • Support the Certification and Accreditation process
    • Document, implement, and maintain software security policies in accordance with DISA STIG requirements
    • Implement mitigations of security vulnerabilities in response to IAVAs

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field of study

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in related Information Technology Field
  • Experience with Microsoft Solutions and Cloud technologies
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including unique technical terminology required for the performance of these duties and functions.
  • Must have the ability to operate a computer and be familiar with using the Microsoft Office Suite.

Certification Requirements: 

  • A certification in at least one of the following areas is required:
    • UI/UX (User Interface and User Experience Design)
    • Cloud Technology
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MSCD)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) at time of start

Work Location:

  • National Museum of the United States Army, Fort Belvoir, Virginia
  • Work hours to be between 6:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday, working an 8 hour shift. Core hours are 10am-2pm. Shift time to be determined.
  • Telework only under special circumstances and must be authorized by the government

Travel: 

  • Occasional travel may be required – normally less than 10%.
