Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

An I2TS3 Network Engineer - Level 2

  • Performs administration duties for networking hardware including routers, switches, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls and other related network hardware
  • Must have firm grasp and knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities and cabling and their connectivity to local and wide area networks
  • Proactively monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
  • Must have strong understanding of IP Subnetting, VLANs concepts, and routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGB, and OSPF
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with network infrastructure and/or components
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users
  • Support engineering projects by providing architecture design documentation, configurations, and test plans.

Skills / Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support
  • Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches and related network hardware and software
  • Experience reviewing and implementing DISA STIGs on routers, switches, firewalls
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting issues in enterprise LAN/WAN environment
  • Experience working with 802.1X technologies such as Cisco ISE and/or ForeScout CounterAct

Certifications:

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
  • Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • Computing Environment (CE) certification: Can start with your CCNA CCNP (Data Center, Routing and Switching, or Security), or:
  • ​Brocade Certified Ethernet Fabric IP Expert, or
  • Brocade Certified IP Expert, or
  • Brocade Certified SAN Expert, or
  • Juniper Networks Certified Professional - Enterprise Routing and Switching, or
  • Juniper Networks Certified Professional - Security

Additional: 

Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract

Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity

High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience, or Associates Degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelors Degree with 4 years of experience, or Masters Degree with 2 years of experience
