Job Description

Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers. Plans detail operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases. Determines the need for tooling and makes recommendations for the design and planning of required tools. Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with production to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements. Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.

  • Reviews job orders, shipping needs and material requirements for all customers’ jobs.
  • Schedule task through all work centers, aligns resources, and evaluates capacities
  • Schedules pending estimates to understand future load of shop / resource requirement.
  • Forecast scheduling to review by Management.
  • Reviews each task shipping needs and creates itemized delivery reports for all items to be delivered or shipped to customer.
  • Communicates customer required deadlines and coordinates the distribution of work packages to all internal departments’ supervisors and employees.
  • Assists Management with the estimating of man-hours and material to be used for incoming task.
  • Assist Management with resolving production conflicts while maintaining scheduled deadlines and requirements.
  • Prepares, reviews and develops weekly production status reports for each internal/external customer task. To include each assembly and individual item being fabricated on individual fabrication spreadsheet.
  • Presents weekly production reports to internal management and supervisors during weekly production meetings.
  • Estimating Principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NAVSEA Ship Installation Drawings, Liaison Action Records (LARs), Condition Found Reports (CFRs)
  • All Microsoft Office Programs (excel, word, etc.)

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical

training or work experience

Requirements:

3-5 years of technical experience working in an industrial fabrication shop.

Able to read and interpret fabrication / assembly drawings.

Proficient in MS applications, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel.

Detail oriented and possess good organizational and communication skills.
