At GDIT, people are our differentiator.  As a Cloud Engineer supporting Government, you will be trusted to work on verifying, testing, and validating new technologies towards network architecture modernization. 

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Collaborating with architects, engineering, and development teams to design, develop, and test cloud solution offerings based on public cloud, private cloud, hybrid client environments and multi-cloud environments
  • Supporting trade studies, assessments, and providing recommendations     
  • Developing and implementing re-usable cloud Infrastructure modules and templates using DevSecOps practices
  • Building a framework using AWS cloud technologies to collect, transfer, and archive data files of varying formats into a data lake and content warehouse
  • Leveraging AWS technologies, e.g., SQS, SNS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation
  • Designing and developing APIs and data access services for new data feeds
  • Designing and implementing low-latency and highly available performance applications
  • Integrating data storage solutions using PostgreSQL and Redis database.
  • Creating database schema that represent and support business processes
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and develop unit tests
  • Working within a SAFe Agile Architectural environment
  • Your success will be measured through our ability to enable Government in meeting strategic goals.

What you’ll need:

  • Education:  Bachelor of Science Degree, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years related experience.
  • Active TS/SCI + CI Polygraph clearance (poly can be obtained through Government)
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification:  Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
  • The ability and experience in designing, documenting, and verifying the technology solution that meets business needs and technical requirements and follows enterprise defined guardrails, governance, and security standards for cloud deployments
  • The ability to develop and document an operational model to maintain and operate the service design, including, but not limited to, monitoring, performance, and capabilities
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering on AWS and Azure
  • Experience leveraging cloud engineering expertise for a specific cloud service provider, e.g. AWS
  • Hands on programming experience using Python, Nodejs and Ansible
  • Hands on
  • Experience with cloud automation development tool, e.g., Ansible, Git, AWS cloud formation, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience performing complex systems development and design work within the Systems Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience formulating innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
  • Experience with Docker, JIRA, and GitHub
  • Working experience of Analytics tools using Athena, Amazon Redshift, EMR, Elasticsearch Service, Kinesis, AWS Glue
  • Knowledge of Identity Access Management, Cross account S3/KMS access management
  • Hands on programming experience using Python, Nodejs, Ansible
  • Working experience in AWS Serverless architecture using Python, Lambda, API Gateway, ALB/ELB
  • Deep understanding Relational DB service - RDS (Postgres, Aurora, MySql, Oracle), DynamoDB,
  • Working experience of M/L services using Amazon SageMaker, Comprehend, Kendra, Polly, Rekognition, Textract, etc.
  • Hands on experience with AWS Service Catalog
  • Working experience of automation & management of multi-account environment
  • Hands on experience with container orchestration technologies - AWS ECS, AWS Fargate, Kubernetes
  • Experience with Terraform
