GDIT – Federal Civilian Division is currently looking for a Quality Analyst Advisor to join our team in support of the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) at their Headquarters in Falls Church, VA.  

This advisory support includes the following tasks:

  • Provide direct support Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) Risk Manager for patient safety, risk management, and quality assurance programs covering medical activities within Navy Medicine, the Fleet and the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Patient Safety.
  • Provide support for tracking, summarizing and analyzing adverse events from Navy Medicine activities and providing impressions and/or recommendations to the BUMED Risk Manager as required.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative ad hoc statistical analyses and prepares summaries and graphs of adverse event data.
  • Provide written consultation to the BUMED Risk Manager regarding BUMED instructions, a deep dive into effects of Department of Defense (DOD) and Defense Health Agency (DHA) issuances, Memoranda of Agreement/Understanding on Navy Medicine operations, draft language for DHA guidance, government agency policies, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Consult with global healthcare facilities on a variety of patient safety and risk management topics including, but not limited to, creating a culture of safety and strong safety culture by utilizing High reliability Organization (HRO) principles.
  • Advise senior leadership regarding HRO, education and training, leadership engagement, and patient-centered care. 
  • Participate in special projects as required


  • BSN or RN and a JD (Masters in law will also be considered)
  • 8+ years of strong healthcare risk management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have a Secret Clearance
