Job Description

Work with cutting-edge applications that help advance the mission as a Software Architect at GDIT. Your work will have you fully immersed in our client’s domain in order to deliver simple solutions for their complex needs. At GDIT, you’ll prioritize the client while we prioritize your career. 

HOW SOFTWARE ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Work with customers and within a talented team to design and develop C#, ASP.NET, MVC web application solutions.
  • Working with the existing customer and development team to create functional enhancements to the existing HR applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies will be essential for this position.
  • Experience in various web development technologies such as HTML, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, JSON, and XML.
  • Proven experience developing applications using one or more of the development platforms is required with a preference towards the ServiceNow platform.
  • Migration of some applications to other platforms and future development is expected.
  • Provide software architect and web development support to the Sponsor's areas of IT consulting and mission needs.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with supporting organizations as well as senior and executive level mission partner leadership.
  • Understand the customer environment and unique customer needs in web development, training, maintenance, and administrative support while providing cost savings where possible via reuse and out-of-the box thinking.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Required Experience: 16 years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies will be essential for this position as well as experience in various web development technologies such as HTML, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, JSON, and XML.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/ Poly
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in Web Development Lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Demonstrated experience in Scrum Framework and Agile Methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience developing web applications in Microsoft SharePoint utilizing SharePoint Designer, REST API, SP Services, Ajax, and JSON.
  • Demonstrated experience in Web Technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Framework and JavaScript. Libraries.
  • Demonstrated experience using JavaScript and CSS frameworks such as jQuery and Bootstrap.
  • Demonstrated experience in Relational Database Systems such as Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office products/Office 365 such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing JIRA.
  • Demonstrated experience being able to embrace diverse technical disciplines and have excellent customer intimacy skills such as listening, understanding, questioning in a non-threatening manner, differentiating between customer’s wants and needs, and the ability to deliver on those needs.
  • Demonstrated experience with the desire to learn new skills and able to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job.
  • Demonstrated experience with strong interpersonal and organization skills and successful in working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience being a self-motivated, organized, capable of performing research, trouble-shooting, and has excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing superior customer service and support.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in ServiceNow.
  • Demonstrated experience in WordPress and Joomla.
  • Demonstrated experience in Data Visualization Tools such as Tableau, Power BI & Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Demonstrated experience developing in Cloud Environments such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated experience in Adobe Suite such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated experience in sound problem resolution, judgement, and decision-making.
