GDIT is seeking a Senior Database Administrator who will be responsible for supporting a high-profile CMS system that provides Medicare beneficiary eligibility data to Medicare providers.
Understand and work in an Agile development environment.
Take complex data project requests and produce into business and technical requirements Configuring, and maintaining Oracle, Postgres and MySQL instances in AWS environment.
Support physical and logical design for database schemas.
Perform Extract, Transfer, and Load (ETL) functions.
Independently develop and implement efficient database solutions with support from other developers on the team as needed.
Independently troubleshoot and fix issues that arise with data and/or processes and recommend solutions to prevent reoccurrence
Support, devise, and implement efficiencies around existing ETL processes ensuring integrity of the data environment
Suggest and assist in incorporating enhancements to our existing data environment and reporting environments
Develop SQL queries and/or procedures and functions to satisfy complex data requests
Create and maintain documentation
Understand and agree to role-specific information security access and responsibilities
Ensure safety and confidentiality of data and systems by adhering to the organizations information security policies
Read, understand and agree to security policies and complete all annual security and compliance training
Develop and maintain database functions and triggers using PL/pgSQL
Participate in team design sessions and code reviews
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
10+ years database analyst/administrator experience, required.
5+ years of Experience in Information Technology, required.
2+ years of Experience in a Healthcare Information Technology environment, preferred.
Advanced Microsoft SQL Server programming (T-SQL) skills (v2008-2014), required.
Strong advanced knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, DTS, SSIS and IIS, required.
Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, knowledge of Medicare is preferred.
Expert SQL, stored procedure coding, and problem-solving skills, required.
Expertise in Data Vault methodology experience highly preferred.
Intermediate to expert knowledge of SQL DB Administration, including performance tuning, required.
Ability to accurately collect requirements and estimating the efforts involved.
Ability to independently work on projects and finish them within time and budget.
