GDIT is looking for an experienced Task Order Manager to manage IDIQ Task Orders and associated infrastructure implementation projects in a data center environment for the development of new solutions and services and/or the successful migration of existing solutions and services for the Department of Homeland Security client.   Job Location is the John C. Stennis NASA Space Center in Mississippi.   

Job Description:

Will serve as project manager for a large and complex government task order.  Under the guidance of the Task Order Management Team Lead, the project manager will be responsible for:

  • Overall management of the specific task order(s) and insuring that the technical solutions and schedules in the task order are implemented in a timely manner, within budget and producing quality results
  • Leads all aspects of multiple medium sized projects with low to moderate complexity.  Assists in managing aspects of larger programs  
  • Assists in the definition requirements and design and implementation of project modifications and development 
  • Develops key trusted advisor customer relationships with customers for which they are the Point of Contact
  • Implements growth plans that have been developed with component advocates to meet plans and targets
  • Creates and implements project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for medium to large sized projects of moderate complexity
  • Prepares statements of work for project engagements and monitors performance to ensure that project commitments meet contractual specifications  
  • Determines need for and impact of changes in scope of project and makes recommendation based on determinations  
  • Gains concurrence, approval, and consensus from internal and external regarding the various project aspects, adjusts accordingly. 
  • Builds brilliant teams to ensure project execution occurs effectively and efficiently.  Requires clear communication of expectations and clear understanding of deadlines, assignments and objectives
  • Manages costs, schedules and quality by overseeing project deliverables. Ensures schedule and budget are met
  • Identifies need for changes and revises within established guidelines/policies as appropriate
  • Uses verbal and written skills to drive project execution and update stakeholders of status of projects through emails, ticket updates and various reporting
  • Utilizing specific databases and applications to complete administrative duties
  • Other duties as required


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10+ years of experience
  • This task order / project manager should have experience in the following areas: 

1)Customer management and successful management, to include planning and execution, of infrastructure projects that include internal and external team members, customers and vendors

2)Technical experience in various infrastructure hardware and software environments such as UNIX and Windows servers, Storage, F5 Load Balancers, and various networking switches and devices

3)IT Service Management using ITIL V2 or V3 best practices with emphasis in Incident, Change, Release,   Configuration and Service Continuity Management

4)Great verbal and written communication skills for day to day internal and external communications, ticket updates and reporting to multiple levels of management

  • PMP certification is required
  • ITIL4 is preferred
