GDIT is seeking an exceptionally talented and motivated individual for the position of Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert (SME). The position is currently available for the right individual to join our team in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – COVID-19 Activation. This position is for fulltime employment with the ability to earn extra hours in support of this demanding response work. Initial location is in a remote role due to COVID-19 work restrictions on the CDC campus, but is expected to transition to the Roybal Campus located in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is 100% at the customer’s location.
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Pharmacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) and support leadership in the Vaccine Task Force under the CDC COVID-19 Activation. Scientific Consulting/Subject Matter Expertise in the area of pharmacy is critical to the mission of the Vaccine Task Force.
Role will require work on weekends, holidays, and nights as well as normal weekday hours as required by response leadership.
Partner with and provide subject matter expertise for the response that will inform operational and response plans
Work and assist principle leadership on implementation plans and the execution of those plans
Led work efforts to include presentations on behalf of leadership when appropriate
Respond as appropriate to inquiries on pharmacy matters on behalf of leadership
Provide evidence-based input to leadership as they resolve critical matters, questions, problems, and issues for the response
Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders that represent functional positions within the IMS structure and external partners outside of the COVID-19 Activation to include at the Federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal jurisdictions.
B.S. in Pharmacy required
At least one of the following Professional Board Certifications required (with additional ones being preferred): Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP), AND/OR Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
Minimum of 10 years of progressive pharmacy management experience, preferably within multi-site operations in acute care settings
Must be U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance
Must be within commuting distance to Atlanta, GA
Desired Skills and Experience:
PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy preferred
Superior written and verbal skills. Must write succinctly and clearly and explain complex situations in plain English to technical and non-technical audiences
Experience in subject matter expert role(s)
Experience supporting CDC activation activities
