GDIT is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to help support an exciting new Cloud Service Offering contract, Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS). This position will require the employee to report full-time onsite in Oceanside, CA.
The Infrastructure Engineer will perform administrative support for on-premises domain and office productivity services as well as cloud administration of a Microsoft Office 365 tenant and services. He/She will serve as technology expert and provide guidance to junior team members. The Infrastructure Engineer will oversee the design, documentation, implementation and management of IT services for a hybrid and cloud capability. You will manage Enterprise IT Systems to enable highly available and secure services between on-premise datacenter capabilities and cloud services.
Additional responsibilities include:
Provides guidance on installation, configuration and maintenance of virtual hosts, operating systems, applications and databases.
Maintains ownership of high availability, high security IT operations.
Develops and presents IT infrastructure standard operating procedures to senior management. Reviews and approves periodic status updates on scheduled maintenance and upgrade of all infrastructure systems.
Troubleshoots hardware, network, storage, virtualization, software and application issues to identify bottleneck in operations and provides recommendations to ensure optimum performance and continuity of critical systems.
Recognized for in-depth knowledge of a specific product or families of enterprise applications, such as Enterprise IT management products, and associated applications interface technologies.
Utilizes technical area expertise to assess the operational and/or technical baseline of an organization as specifically associated with its functional components.
Works with information technology professionals to provide insight and advice to senior managers and executives, concerning the strategic direction and applicability of enterprise-based products.
Takes a lead role in contributing to the development of standards and best practices surrounding the use of enterprise products and applications.
Provides technical insight into the determination of technical inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area’s ability to support/meet organizational goals.
Generates technical strategies for enhanced operations, as well as ways to improve productivity across functional areas within the organization.
Responsible for developing and educating others with regard to product-specific best practices.
Participate in technical assessments and reviews to validate the technical approach and associated work products.
Provides guidance and direction to other professionals, acts in a consulting and/or advisory capacity; coordinates resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, possesses ability to meet and operate under deadlines.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
Must possess at least one of the following certifications:
---> CompTIA Security+ CE
---> GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
---> Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
---> CompTIA CASP+ CE
---> Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
---> Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
---> GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
---> GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
Masters Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field
6+ years hands-on experience
Expertise in implementing Microsoft 365 hybrid architectures, ideally for DoD customers, including the following:
---> Azure Active Directory
---> Hybrid Exchange
---> Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings
---> Windows Server
---> Azure Networking
---> Cisco routing/switching/firewalls
---> Palo Alto Firewalls
---> DoD CC SRG and STIGs
Must be able to report full-time onsite as indicated above
