Job Description

Looking for a Systems Engineer to work on an exciting team developing special telecommunications solutions. Job duties include leading the project development lifecycle; enforcing project lifecycle rigor; developing documentation; briefing systems requirements and design; and helping to design and prototype communications systems.

This position is a member of a team that is expanding the data transport line of business. Our customers have exciting missions in team-oriented environments where we are breaking new ground in solving the most difficult customer mission problems.

Detailed description includes:

  • Manage one or more integration projects with system planning, integration/development life cycle, coordinate hardware/software integration, prepare validation test documentation, and coordinate packaging/delivery of equipment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse team of highly skilled network engineers, cyber security engineers, architects, procurement specialists, and security analysts

  • Demonstrated experience conducting technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with system, preparing report, studies, and documentation

  • Key responsibilities include:

o Preparing project level documents and system requirements

o Providing overall design concepts in order to manage integration work utilizing standardized and disciplined project policy/processes/procedures

o Managing system integration consisting of assembly, manufacturability, verification tests, installation, operations, maintenance, repair, and disposal

o Provide effective communication with multiple organizational components through moderate meetings as part of standardized processes, documenting minutes, and tracking actions

o Provide expertise in information management

Required and Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Required

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • BS/BA Degree PLUS 15 years of experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience designing and/or building custom computing solutions

  • Strong experience with and understanding of the project lifecycle

  • Experience documenting complex hardware and software systems

  • Experience developing system requirements

  • Experience designing systems to meet detailed written requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working with Systems Engineering designs and logic diagrams

  • Obtain, document, and validate user requirements in order to develop System Requirements Specification documents

  • Experience overseeing end-to-end (ETE) validation testing in integration environment

  • Develop project schedules, track project plans, requirements, task schedules and actions items for data and software/hardware implementation

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating groups of people to accomplish mission goals

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Experience performing with minimal guidance, under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to track details of sub-system assemblies and components while maintaining a big picture focus

Desired

  • Excellent communications skills to articulate complex technical issues orally and in writing

  • Demonstrated expertise with PowerPoint, Visio, and other documentation tools

  • An understanding of telecommunications systems and architectures

  • Hands-on experience building hardware and/or software systems

  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments

  • Experience handling system security under Linux operating systems.
