GDIT is looking for a Data Analyst to support the National Institute of Health ( NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s( NHLBI) custom software portfolio.. The Data Analyst will deliver innovative solutions for improving the effectiveness, reach, and content of these software solutions, while reducing their technical debt. You will be responsible for contributing across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on data analysis. As such, this role requires a combination of understanding software data requirements and to validate the implementation of those requirements through data testing. The candidate will be able to model the data implementations and requirements of existing systems, propose improvements to those implementations, and verify the changes were implemented correctly.
Other responsibilities will include:
Capture and express requirements with a variety of techniques including data models, API specifications, user stories, and use cases.
Analyze existing systems interfaces and documents.
Conduct interviews and studies with product owners, users and other stakeholders to identify candidate data requirements
Describe and execute test cases
Collaborate with the team on agile activities including to estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives
Manage requirements using a backlog, and collaborate with product-owners to prioritize the backlog
Manage the flow of development from idea to release
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering/Engineering Technology or relative field and 5 plus years of experience or equivalent relative years of experience for education.
Experience creating, reading and maintaining logical and physical data models and other data documentation
Experience writing SQL to read and update databases.
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect
Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (MS SSIS)
Experience writing automated tests for databases
