GDIT has an immediate opening for an Electric Power Plant III (EPP III) Generator Rebuild Mechanical Engineer, Associate in Korea. This position requires someone with a current and active Secret clearance.
The Electric Power Plant III (EPP III) Generator Rebuild Mechanical Engineer, Associate rebuilds diesel engines on the 150 kW, 400 HZ generators in Korea. The Mechanical Engineer has a high attention to detail and craftsmanship and is responsible for rebuilding the generator to exacting specifications.
Complete disassembly, inspection, reassembly and testing of EPP III generators down to the individual engine and main generator subcomponent level.
References the technical manual at every step in the process to ensure proper procedures are being followed and the correct torque specifications are being used.
Uses precision test equipment including various electrical meters, data recorders, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Complete teardown, inspection, testing, and rebuilding of diesel engines.
Troubleshoot engine, control panel, and electrical faults.
Operate dyno, data recorder, and load bank test equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair dyno, load bank, and overload unit.
Operate generator final test and performance monitoring equipment.
Performs all other duties assigned.
Extensive diesel engine rebuilding experience and a rebuild certification.
BA/BS plus 2 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 4 years’ experience, or a High School diploma and 6 years’ experience.
Active Secret Clearance.
US passport must not expire for at least 2 years and have at least 4 consecutive blank pages in it.
