GDIT is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for an effort that will provide IT services support for a government agency's business applications services and strategically align their enterprise IT and business resources with complex, and mission-critical goals. This team will provide professional Information Technology (IT) program and technical services, including:
Program and project management
System architecture and software development life cycle management
Subject matter expertise
Communications and community outreach
Subject matter expertise related to Health and Sciences research systems and technology
The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Program Manager are to:
Proactively improve the IT operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the client’s mission through the management and guidance of multiple work streams, teams, and clients.
Supports engagements related, but not limited to: technology strategy, architecture and service management; IT security; systems integration; data analytics and visualization; application development and maintenance; help desk operations; infrastructure/network design and management; and cloud (e.g., software, platform, infrastructure as a service).
Provides input to key deliverable structure and content, as well as facilitating buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels.
Responsibilities also include directing timely delivery of quality work products for the client. Management engagement risk.
Responsible for the professional development of Project Delivery junior staff performing the role of counselor and coach, as well as providing leadership and support.
Providing input and guidance into the staffing/on-boarding/roll-off and/or out- processing of Project Delivery resources.
Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) and a minimum of four years of experience in IT services.
Experience typically includes ability to support IT engagements of greater than average size and complexity
Ability to lead multiple teams and multiple clients with confidence; excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; professional oral and written communication skills
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills ,
Ability to mentor and manage junior staff and further their professional growth
The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet requirements to obtain Public Trust Suitability. Ability to obtain a Secret or higher level clearance is preferred.
