ARMA-Global is seeking web and mobile application developers who have extensive experience with development of presentation (GUI); security; application; and database layers. This is a new and evolving opportunity seeking to employ cutting edge web applications to increase efficiency and performance supporting Air Force Special Operations. We are looking for motivated; team oriented; and talented developers who want to make a difference while assisting our warfighters throughout the globe combatting terrorism and reducing threats to America. These individuals must also have experience maintaining software applications; testing applications; and generating APIs as well as possess the ability to identify and rectify bugs. The focus of these positions is on web applications and Android/iOS mobile platforms. The developers will provide full lifecycle software development to include requirements gathering; design; development; testing; documentation; training of customers and help desk personnel; configuration; and maintenance of developed software projects. Developers will also maintain existing custom-developed software; and support COTS/GOTS software products as needed. Developers will also help evolve the software development methodology based on agile and lean thinking; including the establishment of coding conventions; documentation standards; testing procedures and quality assurance.


  • Develops and applies moderately advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.

  • Develops complex documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

  • Exercise independent judgement in the preparation and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

  • Performs advance modeling, simulation and analysis. Designs and develops basic compilers, assemblers, utility programs and operating systems with extensive independent judgement.

  • Using advanced knowledge, develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.

  • Develops documentation for new or existing programs.

  • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.

  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

  • May serve as a mentor to less experienced analysts.

  • May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • 8+ years of Programming experience in one or more of the following: Java; JavaScript; Python; Ruby; C#/.NET; Objective-C; Swift

  • Experience with developing web-based applications; utilizing HTML5/JavaScript/CSS. Understanding of responsive design techniques and mobile web clients

  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following application frameworks: React, Node.js, Ruby on Rails;, Angular, Django, and Flask

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of at least some of the following: UI/UX design; MVC; WCF; SQL; RESTful web services; mobile app development; and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience in developing cloud hosted applications: Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud preferred

  • Experience working in an agile environment (Kanban and Scrum)

  • Innovative: Always looking for ways to integrate new technology to solve problems and fill in capability gaps. Demonstrated expertise selecting and utilizing open source products in applications and solutions

  • Experience in cross-platform mobile app development (PhoneGap; Apache Cordova)

  • Working knowledge of software development tools such as Redmine; JIRA; and GitHub/GitLab

  • Requires a good working knowledge of information systems and applications in a DevOps environment; including Linux (Red Hat); Windows Server 2016+; Apache; and PostgreSQL

  • Pursues ongoing education in technical topics

  • Good business communication skills. Position will require developing and giving presentations

  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work

  • Air Force and/or DOD background a plus

Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

Certification Requirements:

  • DoD 8570. IAT Level II Certification required within 3 months of employment, (CASP or CSSLP preferred)
