GDIT is looking for a passionate, skilled and driven Quality Assurance Regression Tester for the eMedNY Production Regression Team.

The Regression team is responsible for examining and reviewing daily regression results, re-baseline or determine if an issue exists, and adjusting test cases resulting from system changes.  Review SIT test folders and plans to determine the possibility of adding to the Quality Assurance Regression (QAR) baseline.  Add test cases to QAR Regression baseline.  Become familiar with operational aspects of the QAR Test lab. Create test scripts using Silk Test tool and 4Test language.  Run and monitor scripts when appropriate.  Report any discrepancies for possible Problem LOG creation.  Run appropriate SQLs to determine status of claims and tables.

Develop test plans and test scripts in Micro Focus Silk Test using 4Test language from test scenarios prepared by others in Microsoft Word. Test scripts will contain SQL Queries executed via DB Tester and the results compared with expected data of the application being tested. Successful candidate will be a key part of a major testing effort, and must have experience working as a part of a team to accomplish an aggressive schedule. Review weekly cycle results.  Analyze and compare results from previous week cycle execution.  Help with weekly cycle execution.

This position is based at GDIT’s office at Riverview Center in Menands, NY.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Install Silk Test and configure Silk Test license during installation.
  • Install and configure ClearCase on Silklab pc’s
  • Maintain Artifacts/documents Version control using ClearCase/Dimensions.
  • Install and configure SQL server.
  • Create test database/tables on SQL server.
  • Run SQL server queries to maintain / Cleanup SILKTEST results website.
  • Configure ODBC/SQL server connections between IBM DB2/SILKTEST
  • Make changes to scripts/ claim tools developed in VBScript.
  • Configure Testlab Pc’s after Hardware or software upgrade.
  • Update Silk Test test scripts to make it work with the latest system upgrade like browser or operating system upgrade or as required.
  • Update QAR Claim tools VBScript code / HTA tool code as required
  • Update Silk Test results website ASP code as required
  • Add and adjust changes to specifications which includes system parameters and systems lists.
  • Use Silk Test to automate mainframe application


The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years or more with Medicaid/Healthcare transactions and regression testing methodology
  • Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience with healthcare claims of all types.
  • Experience writing SQL Queries and understanding DB2 table relationships.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment
  • Prefer experience using automated testing tools to test mainframe JAVA, .net and Thin client applications.
  • Prefer experience with healthcare claims terminology and the health industry.  Knowledge of New York State Medicaid procedures is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge associated with mainframe DB2, CICS, RTC, TSO, INSYNC, SQL
  • Experience using C, C++, VBScript, HTA and ASP is required.
  • Experience developing test plans and scripts in Segue Silk Test using 4Test language is required.
  • Experience writing SQL Queries and DB Tester is required.
  • Prefer experience using automated testing tools to test both mainframe and Thin Client applications.
  • Prefer experience using an automated testing tool to compare data returned by SQL queries with expected data returned by the application being tested.
  • Experience in medical service industry is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of New York State Medicaid procedures is preferred but not required
