Our work depends on a Systems Architect joining our team to support application development and systems administration activities at State of Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) in the Annapolis, MD area.

As a Systems Architect, you will be trusted to design and implement strategic capabilities to manage and maintain multiple application platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, SharePoint and WordPress to meet the customer needs. You will provide your expertise and architectural assistance not only to agency users but also to DoIT IT personnel including software teams, database teams, infrastructure, and network teams. In this role, a typical day you will:
In a managerial and hands on capacity, work with DoIT, Agency users, and GDIT technical resources to maintain the availability, scalability, security and performance of multiple application development platforms, including ServiceNow, Salesforce, SharePoint and WordPress at a minimum
Derive IT strategies and approaches that support both short term and long term Agency business plans and goals
Advise project teams on implementing their recommended solutions
Working closely with the program manager, lead teams of technical resources to respond to requests for services, support and training from Agency users within defined service levels
Manage and report out on mitigation of risks, status of projects and resolution of issues
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
10 years of experience in a computer-related field
5 years of experience in the role of a lead systems architect
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.
