Job Description

We have a vacant position for a Personnel Support/G1/J1 subject matter expert to fill an existing requirement in the Higher Command and Control (HICOM) Cell in our Mission Command Exercise Branch. This employee will be working at the Special Operations Mission Training Center (SOMTC) at Fort Bragg, NC, and will be developing exercise products and role-playing Service Support staff functions such as Personnel Management, Manning the Force, Human Resources Services, Personnel Support Coordination, and Headquarters Management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The employee will develop content, script interactions, and refine scenarios for Command Post and Mission Command Readiness Exercises for United States Army Special Operations Command subordinate units and select other units.

  • The employee will develop scenarios based on, at a minimum, written training guidance, the training unit Commander’s training objectives, and Combined Arms Training Strategy tasks.

  • The employee will replicate, and role-play entities as required to facilitate Commander's training objectives.

  • The employee shall be familiar with and adhere to current Army and Joint doctrine and training strategies throughout the exercise development Life Cycle.

  • The employee shall be responsible for cooperatively maintaining a library of five exercise frameworks for each performance period, with one new exercise framework being created during the base and option periods of performance.

  • The employee may travel to respective training unit locations in support of distributed exercises as required.

  • Provides advanced analytical support to projects involving training, tactical/operational documentation, military systems design or other efforts requiring military operations expertise.

  • Researches, identifies, and makes recommendations about resources required for task execution and completion.

  • Gathers, processes, and analyzes operational data.

  • Assists with the testing and development of new collaborative systems or updates to existing systems to meet client needs.

  • Identifies and recommends emergent relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas.

  • Writes and updates project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials.

  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

  • May serve as a mentor to less-experienced analysts.

  • May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager)

Education:

  • Minimum Education Requirement: Associate degree.

  • Five years of related military experience may substitute for academic degree; or two years of experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Command Exercises may substitute for academic degree.

Security Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required
