Travel Required: 10-25%

Provide support to the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Division (SMWDC IAMD) by providing subject matter expert (SME) advice and assistance in the areas of Advanced Tactical Training (ATT), Operational Support, Tactical and Operational-level doctrine review, and writing, Capability Analysis, Assessments and Experimentation.

Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Analyst

• Required ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance; Desired ability to obtain TS clearance at start (investigation basis must be valid for 6 months after start date) and be eligible for SCI

• Required twenty (20) years (minimum) of military or relevant industry or government experience

• Required five (5) years (minimum) of experience aboard Navy aircraft carriers or large deck amphibious ships equipped with the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS)

• Required familiarity with operational and tactical doctrine, concept of operations, standard operating procedures, and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP)

• Required qualification as Tactical Action Officer from a SSDS platform (must have signed qualification letter). 

• Desired three (3) years (minimum) of experience (concurrent or sequential to 20 years military experience) teaching and/or instructing in a formal classroom setting.

Senior Air Defense Subject Matter Expert

• Required ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance; Desired ability to obtain TS clearance at start (investigation basis must be valid for 6 months after start date) and be eligible for SCI

• Required twenty (20) years (minimum) of military or relevant industry or government experience with a minimum of five (5) years specifically working with/on the Ships Self Defense System (SSDS)

Job Requirements (SSDS Analyst / AD SME)

  • Required ability (and desire) to travel via boat or helicopter to embark on U.S. Navy ships
  • Required ability (and desire) to travel up to approximately 25-30%
  • Required experience reviewing technical and tactical documentation to identify sound tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP)
  • Required experience conducting both classroom and “over-the-shoulder” combat systems training
