At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cyber Security Analyst – SOC Tier I supporting various government customers, you will be trusted to work on SIEM technology to triage alerts as they enter the SOC from network and security systems/applications, the client, and/or from intelligence sources. This role will be in Bossier City, LA. This position will work 12-hour dedicated shifts.
In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:
Providing technical support on event network security logs and trend analysis.
Detecting the full spectrum of known cyberattacks (e.g., DDoS, malware, phishing, others).
Uncovering and pinpointing security violations of compromised systems and devices
Correlating security events from various capabilities to identify attacks and breaches.
Analyzing and act on intelligence information to secure customer networks and devices
Observing, documenting, and reporting actions taken by malicious actors in customer networks.
Maintaining a current understanding of the best practices and strategies used in cyber security.
Must be a US Citizen
Familiarity with security or cyber security fundamentals
Interim or Active DoD Secret clearance (Or Ability to obtain)
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
Current Louisiana resident or willing to obtain residency within 60 days of hire
Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills
Understanding of networking fundamentals, the OSI model, and TCP/IP protocols
Knowledge of attack methods and techniques (DDoS, brute force, spoofing, etc.)
Familiarity of security standards (NIST, FISMA, Fed RAMP, DCID, CNSS and DoD 8500)
Knowledge of cloud IT solutions and security considerations of cloud solution deployment
Experience with any SIEM or log aggregation system, Splunk preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
