Windows Systems Engineer (Advisor Level)Doral, FLPlease note, this is an ONSITE role. Not a "remote" position.US Security clearance is requiredGeneral Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an IT Windows Engineer with Microsoft Enterprise Systems Administrator and VMWare experience to join our SCITES team. To Design and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.This position is on our engineering team, developing and integrating new capabilities for deployment to operations.  As Windows System Engineer duties will provide expert technical support of major new projects to roll out new capabilities for customer.  Projects include operating system upgrades, integration of new applications into physical and virtual environments, cloud migration, implementation of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) in a hybrid cloud, and other projects affecting the enterprise environment with locations in multiple countries. Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • Contributes to completion of major engineering programs and projects.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems.
  • Perform highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
  • Oversees highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Performs highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Performs continual maintenance and provides highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes.
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task lead.
Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or equivalent with 8+ years of experience, or MS with 5+ years
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Information Assurance Technical (IAT)-II level
  • Interim SECRET clearance to start, ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance and SCI access.
  • Possess a current Azure Certification (AZ-104 or higher), legacy MCSE (2016) Certification
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (in oral and written form) with a variety of individuals and team members in both small and large team environments. Willingness to participate in special projects as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of experience with supporting O&M of servers (e.g., physical, and virtual), operating systems (e.g., Windows and UNIX/LINUX), databases (e.g., Microsoft and SQL), collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint) VMWare, ESXi, VDI, Horizon View, software applications, scripting, SANs, and computer security in an enterprise. 
  • A minimum of five years of experience with cloud-based solutions
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a virtual desktop enterprise environment
  • ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 is a plus
