Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Writer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to create technical documents and manuals for a brand new system; working with engineers and users to ensure accuracy of product and systems descriptions. A day will include:

• Work in a team environment with Engineers and users
• Prepare and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
• Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing functionality

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, Technical Writing or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years related experience.
• Technical Skills: Technical Writer, Microsoft Office
• Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
• Preferred Qualifications: Technical Writer responsible for creating technical documents and manuals for a brand new system, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with Engineering and users to ensure accuracy of product and system descriptions. Write processes and procedures. Excellent written skills in English. Critical thinker and problem solving skills. Great interpersonal and communication skills to work with team to capture knowledge; very fluid and proactive.
