GDIT is seeking a System Engineer to join our team.
Contract requires US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI.
Some telecommuting is allowed but candidate must be local to the office.
Troubleshoots system hardware and software specific issues. Trains end-users on the proper use of hardware and software. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions. Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Ensures that the performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users. Applies practical knowledge of job areas typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies. Configure and maintain Cisco Layer 2 network switches. Assist with the installation, configuration, and operation of VTC/VOIP equipment for CG personnel. Respond to outages of IT infrastructure for 24-hour watchstanders. Support local storage systems by replacing failed hard drives and assisting with troubleshooting issues. Runs and terminates backbone/horizontal cabling for both copper and fiber networks in compliance with TEMPEST standards.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Networking Experience Desktop repair experience Microsoft Systems Troubleshooting (Windows 10, Server 2016, Office 2016) Cabling experience Database Experience desired but not required TS/SCI Clearance
