GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOMs mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
An I2TS 3 Senior Network Engineer Advisor (Level 3) will:
Have Strong Knowledge: Routing & Switching systems with Cisco and Brocade Experience
Provide Engineering enterprise data, voice and video networks
Maintain a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks
Interact with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization and ongoing management
Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
Correspond with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges and routers
Have Working Knowledge: MPLS (L3VPN and L2 services), Virtual LANs and Trunking (VLANs), STP and VTP; Network Security (ACLs, IPSec Tunnels); Multicast - and how to properly implement
Have In-depth understanding of networking systems & TCP/IP - including experience in IP Addressing & Subnetting, Network Address Translations, MTU, QoS and implementation
Desirable Skills / Experience:
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work
Highly organized with strong ability to prioritize work and work autonomously
Completed CCNP Routing and Switching
Knowledge and experience with VoIP/collaboration systems
Knowledge and experience with HAIPE-based encryption devices
Knowledge of Virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
Knowledge and experience with data center networking
Experience with firewalls and firewall rule sets
Understanding of network virtualization
Understanding of concepts presented in the VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals course
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associates Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelors Degree with 6 years of experience, or Masters Degree with 4 years of experience
IAT II 8570 Baseline Certification Sec+ CE or equivalent/higher
Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
Must be willing travel based on customer requirements
