GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Radio Shop Electronics Engineering Technician (EET) in Afghanistan.  Successful applicant must have an active U.S. Government issued SECRET clearance. This position requires travel to outlying sites, work in austere environments, and working close with the customers. Also, there is a $12,000 bonus provided at the end of a successful one-year deployment.


The Radio Repair Electronics Technician performs all aspects of Harris and Thales radio systems repair. There are Radio Repair requirements throughout multiple locations in SWA in austere environments. Radio Repair Technicians may be required to rotate between or go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.

Must possess the technical experience in two way radio troubleshooting and component level repair.  The Radio Shop Electronics Engineering Technician (EET) performs maintenance actions in RF electronics lab, including testing of radio equipment with RF/analog test equipment, troubleshooting low performance specifications utilizing schematics and layouts. The EET operates and manage wide range of equipment, including automated benches, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators and power supplies. The Electronics technician also executes set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.  

Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Must demonstrate the ability demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team as well as to work independently and be able to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have strong attention to detail. Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills. Qualified candidate must have a “Secret” clearance and be proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and office automation software.


  • BS or equivalent + 0 yrs experience or 4 years’ experience
  • Current Secret Clearance
  • Medically able to successfully complete CRC and deploy
  • US passport must not expire for at least 2 more years and must have at least 4 blank pages in it

Desired Qualifications:

Army MOS 25U/B/S or other Electronic RF repair career fields.

Experience with RF two way radio component level trouble shooting and repair.  Experience with RF test equipment.
