This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.
THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION. GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support (MTCCS) program. GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training. Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems. Establish /maintain training and exercise networks. Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
Maintains system documentation.
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates requisition and installation in accordance with local policies and procedures.
Develops and implements backup recovery.
Develops and implements application testing strategies and document results.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Maintains and provides the guidance and troubleshooting for the virtual and physical infrastructure architecture enclaves within the network boundary.
Supports and leads the STIG and RMF updates for all systems within the network enclave boundary.
Participates in special projects as required.
Minimum of 1 years of experience
AA/AS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training,
Candidate must have or be able to obtain within six months of hire a certification meeting DoD approved 8570 IAT level II baseline (CCNA, Sec+, CySA+, etc.)
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012/2016 or newer
Comprehensive knowledge of virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Familiar with maintaining and operating HBSS
Familiar with maintaining and operating SQL server
Familiar with configuring and deploying ACAS scans
Experienced in applying patches/updates and STIGs
Security Clearance Required:
Must have or be able to attain an active SECRECT
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAP/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
