The All Weapon Information Systems (AWIS) team is looking for an Information Security Analyst to join them at the Naval Air Warfare Center located at the Navy Base in China Lake, CA.
The D433000 Division provides Information Technology (IT) services for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Logistics competency. The D433000 Division manages the All Weapons Information System (AWIS) is the NAVAIRIT system providing complete life cycle tracking and IT management system for many naval ordnance systems. The system provides comprehensive and timely information for the development, production, maintenance, follow-on engineering, acquisition, and logistics to support Fleet readiness and help sustain sophisticated weapons systems and associated support equipment. AWIS is designated as the centralized database for NAVAIR ordnance data and is currently comprised of numerous interrelated applications. AWIS consists of approximately 40 active modules, which facilitate business processes for approximately 7,000 users.
China Lake is located midway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas and is a comfortable drive to the Mountains and skiing in the North and San Diego to the South. The beaches of L.A. aren’t far away either so you’ll have the best of all worlds!
As the Information Security Analyst you will plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. You will assess system vulnerabilities for security risks, and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies. You may be required to ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure.
Maintaining a comprehensive and holistic system view while addressing stakeholder security and risk concerns.
Ensuring the effectiveness and suitability of the security elements of the system as an enabler to mission/business success.
Ensuring that relevant threat and vulnerability data is considered in support of security-relevant decisions.
Provide the evidence necessary to support assurance claims and to substantiate the determination that the system is sufficiently trustworthy.
Conduct security risk management activities, producing related security risk management information, and advising the engineering team and key stakeholders on the security-relevant impact of threats and vulnerabilities to the mission/business supported by the system.
Analyze, interpret, and recommend solutions for system shortfalls, discrepancies, or improvements in technologies and security requirements.
Provide input to project risks, mitigation strategies and issues.
Duties and responsibilities for this role may require periodic visits to the facility in China Lake.
Bachelors degree in related discipline
3+ years of related experience
Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, DoD Security Directives, Policies, Publications and Regulations, and DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)
Posses strong system analysis, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to utilize COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions
Familiar with integrating security into DevOps pipelines
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
