GDIT  is seeking a VMware Administrator for the Wintel Operations team on the FDIC infrastructure program in Arlington, VA.for the FDIC infrastructure program. The Wintel VM Operations team is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and deploying state-of-the-art physical and virtual infrastructure behind FDIC’s technologies. As a virtualization team member, you'll deploy, migrate, and maintain vSphere 5.5 - 6.7 and Horizon View 7 infrastructure.  You'll also participate in project team initiatives and work closely with other teams to enhance virtual environments.


The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails. GDIT provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. GDIT supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas. It has a state of the art development lab to test new functionality, architectures, and equipment.  The FDIC team provides support to a plethora of cutting-edge technologies across the IT spectra. It has a state of the art development lab to test new functionality, architectures, and equipment. Employees are tasked with developing and deploying innovative solutions to meet business requirements - not managing day to day, same technology operations.

Level of Clearance Required: U.S. Citizenship and background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background to obtain an agency specific Public Trust.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six plus years VMware experience
  • Demonstrate experience with vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS, VDS, affinity rules, storage migrations, P2V migrations.
  • Demonstrate capabilities with vSphere storage provisioning, resource pools, host profiles, and third-party plug-ins as well as standard and distributed network switches
  • Anticipate, identify, diagnose, and solve critical problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex vSphere and VDI infrastructure alerts and outages.
  • Perform system analysis and tuning, patch HPE firmware and VMware software.
  • Hands-on experience with HPE rack mount and blade server hardware.
  • CERTIFICATIONS
  • A + certification or equivalent hardware experience
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV)
