As a Configuration Analyst Senior supporting the eMedNY Quality Assurance Systems Operations Team, you will be trusted to establish and maintain the integrity and control of software across multiple platforms (e.g. servers, mainframes, client machines) throughout a project’s lifecycle. In this role, a typical day will include:
Manages source code for different client environments using RTC for mainframe. This includes the propagation of fixes and enhancements to and from the environments.
Promoting code to production.
Provide multiple environment DB2 bind solutions.
Provide multiple environment CICS support and monitoring.
Control branching and merging of the code base using the source control system.
Build, release and configure production application environment.
Ensure proper archiving and auditability of product releases.
Troubleshoot problems in all environments possibly linked to configuration issues.
Responsible for maintaining a 24X7 high profile, multi-platform Production Processing environment, monitoring, supporting and coordinating production batch schedules and performing ABEND determination and resolution.
Determine computing resource requirements, such as execution time, resources, and priority considerations necessary to support the workload schedule.
Make recommendations to enhance scheduling and processing. Ensures that proper notification and escalation procedures on missed checkpoints or other batch/online processing delays are being followed. Ensure all changes are properly documented, categorized, planned, tested, communicated and the appropriate back-out plans are in place.
Responsible for ensuring that up to date job control language (JCL) and operations documentation is maintained in Service Now (SNOW).
Develops, maintains and monitors production run schedules to ensure application and system efficiency.
Provides complex production run instructions to computer operations.
Creates and maintains backups of files used for testing application programs.
Reviews application run instructions, recovery instructions and other complex operational documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with standards.
Assists in job recovery by communicating with Developer’s, DBA’s, Scheduler’s, and Command Center staff.
Controls the development of standards and procedures for production processing.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or a related discipline, plus 5 years of Quality Assurance or Information Technology experience
The position also requires three (3) years of experience with one or more of the following tools including IBM’s Rational Team Concert, TSO, IBM DB2 interactive and Connect Direct.
Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly and work in a fast paced environment
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Heavy understanding and workings of mainframe JCL and JCL utilities.
Knowledge of ZEKE scheduling a plus.
Working knowledge of MFT/SFG (sterling file gateway) file transfer protocol is a plus.
JCL to server communication via JCL. Server processing – Spring Batch, DataStage, Co:z
Real-time front end transaction processing
Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment
