At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Project Manager , you will be trusted to work support a large state-wide implementation of a secure ID solution. This position works under the general guidance of the Account Manager, fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, and requires strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
The Project Manager will serve as the main point of contact for customer staff assigned to system implementation. The Project Manager is responsible for facilitating and coordinating all Project activities, all System implementation deliverables, and communication with the state through final system acceptance. Additionally, the candidate for this position:
Provides overall responsibility for the success of the project team efforts, including managing staff tasks, processes, project initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, and controlling all collaborative efforts.
Develops technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting.
Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
Manages risk tracking process.
Attends customer meetings and serves as primary client liaison.
Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the client.
Coordinate’s development of deliverables and products.
Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Provides briefings to leadership, create reports and documentation on demand, ensure deliverable compliance, and interface between customer organization and team members
Assist with the development, maintenance, and implementation of standard operating procedures, and seek methods to continuously improve organizational processes while defining and improving business procedures, as needed.
Reviews future project requirements and develops strategies for future work.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Have the ability to handle demanding situations with clarity, focus and professionalism, and to respond quickly to quick turnaround taskers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology.
5 years of project management experience.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and perform independently.
Have excellent Microsoft Project and Excel Spreadsheet skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Lead large and complex IT and non-IT projects with project teams that included third party vendor resources
