Contributes and may provide guidance to the completion of significant logistics projects.

Conducts and may provide guidance for the supplier audits, assessments and evaluations to ensure conformance to clients quality, cost and delivery performance standards.

Performs demand forecasting, distribution planning, supply chain modeling and design. May provide guidance to less-experienced Logistics Analysts.

Resolves complex supplier quality issues and provides appropriate support for desired supplier capability.

Identifies complex logistics opportunities for process improvements, inventory reductions, and cost savings.

Writes and edits the logistics policy and procedures.

May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • LCS team lead providing oversight and integrated logistics support for Allowance Parts Lists/Allowance Equipage List (APL/AEL) development, maintenance support for feedbacks, allowance change requests and automated COSAL improvement programs for LCS 27 Freedom Variant and LCS 30 Independence Variant ships for provisioning/ILS support.
  • Serves as liaison with customer, sponsor, and team members by fielding requests and troubleshooting discrepancies.
  • Analyzes standard contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts  
  • Supervisory responsibilities to include providing guidance and work leadership to less experienced staff members.
  • Develops and submits PPLs and other new/revised provisioning lists using the Interactive Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS)
  • Reviews Statements of Prior Submission (SPS) with Change packages for adequacy and accuracy.
  • Reviews fleet feedback reports, message traffic, 3M data and distance support issues to identify and correct APL/AEL discrepancies and deficiencies by developing draft responses and corrected PPLs and other provisioning lists as required.
  • Develops PPLs to add maintenance significant items that are not currently listed on APL/AEL’s.
  • Reviews alteration drawings to identify APL/AEL equipment managed by NSWCCD-SSES that was installed or removed and develop APL/AELs as required.
  • Reviews Engineering Data for Provisioning (EDFP), and where required, develop PPLs using the ICAPS for APL/AEL worthy equipment.
  • Conducts Validation and Verification (either desktop drawing validations and/or shipboard physical sight validation audits) of newly installed systems or equipment to ensure that logistics data matches actual configuration. 
  • Participates in meetings to support logistics objectives.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Required Qualifications Include:

  • BA/BS
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Understanding of supply and procurement systems procedure for requisitioning and purchasing material
  • In-depth knowledge of shipboard systems maintenance and operation/supply support
  • Experience with the Configuration Data Manager’s Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA)
  • Possess current SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain one
