At GDIT, people are our differentiator: The primary responsibility with this position is working with customer management team and other engineering, operations and software developer resources across the IC to meet overall mission technical needs.


  • Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision and will work on projects such as writing code to ingest various data streams, data sources, and conditioning data sets into databases.
  • Will work closely with data scientist and analyst and use data modeling and data engineering in visualization of the end products.
  • This engineer will need to have a holistic view of the data lakes and data structures to determine the most technically efficient way to organize and ingest data into newly created systems.
  • Must be able to create, present, and update a data management plan for the systems and all other interface control documentation from scratch.
  • Must be successful in collaborating with business users to discuss requirements, perform current state system analysis, write functional and technical specifications of current state systems and future system workflows.
  • Must understand all phases of software development life cycle and the Systems Engineering Life Cycle and have the ability to comprehend user business needs and concerns and integrate that understanding with technical skills.


  • Demonstrated experience with ETL tools such as but not limited to Pentaho, Twister, Clover or Talend.
  • Demonstrated experience ingesting, ETL and conditioning new data streams.
  • Demonstrated Data Modeling and Data Engineering experience working with other Data Engineers and Data Scientist.
  • Demonstrated experience with relational databases, i.e., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and SQL.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying data environments hosted C2S and knowledge of the customer A&A process for new projects and maintaining existing project documentation.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in a specific technology.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
