At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Network Engineer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to perform routine to moderately complex network designs and upgrades and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach required to meet user requirements . In this role, a typical day will include:
Utilizing network analysis tools to identify and resolve performance problems in the network and perform routine server maintenance and upgrades.
Troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels,
Design, build, and certify stand alone networks to include automation scripting in a Windows environment.
Review user requests for upgrades and additions to the network, and recap servers to newer models to include Domino.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Minimum of 8 years related experience.
Technical Skills: Network engineering and design, including network and information security requirements, working knowledge of policies and procedures related to designing, upgrading, and maintaining enterprise networks.
Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of theory and practice underlying satellite network operations

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 8+ years of experience
