Responsibilities

As a Configuration Manager, Senior you will serve as the Program Configuration Manager responsible providing configuration management support to assigned projects, directing all Change Management framework, processes and activities across your assigned programs from inception through completion. Responsible for maintaining the program Change Management Schedule and coordinating all Release Management activities including but not limited to updated technical artifacts, life cycle support artifacts, product baselines, designs, architectures, test reports, software, licenses and other Configuration Items as required.

Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinating the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of the contracts. Acts as primary customer contact for program Configuration, Change and Release Management activities, leading Configuration Audits as required; Attending meetings/sessions with customer as required. Establishes Configuration, Change and Release Management operating and support concepts, criteria, and processes to execute and deliver exceptional outcomes for the customer. Monitor milestones to support program master plans and schedules, identifying program performance and execution concerns, problems and managing improvement activities to achieve solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program.

Leadership is a key part of this role. You'll be called upon for guidance, management, mentoring, and advocacy. This means that you'll be:

  • Responsible for staying abreast of Program Strategy, Customer goals and objectives with emphasis on both near and long-term aspects
  • Actively engaging stakeholders and supporting partner to ensure customer expectations regarding Configuration and Change Management Risk and process outcomes are managed appropriately and that teams are working together to meet customer expectations
  • Advocating for and articulating processes, standards and frameworks, in conjunction with industry best practices to drive evolutionary change to Change and Release Management delivery models with sole purpose of increasing program value
  • Responsible for establishing standards, policies, protocols, procedures and best practices that truly embody “Best of Breed” services delivery models
  • Participate in discussions as they pertain to Future State, Concepts, and Expectations to ensure customer alignment
  • Participating in strategic engagements and events including Configuration Control Boards, Change Review Boards, and other customer centric meetings and events
  • Briefing stakeholders customers, and partners on Change and Release Management activities

You'll participate in establishing and directing the program execution to achieve customer outcomes. Specifically, you'll be:

  • Providing routine engagement with project managers, technical leads and managing and communicating Change and Configuration risks to delivery activities
  • Providing recurring training to teams, and partners on Change and Release Management Processes, Workflows, and CI Management practices
  • Managing and fostering external relationships with strategic partners, developing broader relationships across the corporation to enhance value proposition to customer requirements, and developing new relationships with Government OPRs including SPOs, PEOs, and PMOs to enhance Program performance
  • Providing analysis, forecasting and accounting of Configuration, Change and Release Management activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires a highly experienced and working knowledge of the USAF and Special Operations mission, operating environment and culture
  • Must exhibit strong understanding of USAF processes and Development & Engineering and Life Cycle Management Processes
  • Strong expertise in managing Configuration, Change and Release Management processes and Configuration Items across dynamic teams comprised of diverse technical knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve successful outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills (Written & Oral)
  • Provides leadership and guidance at every opportunity to ensure program success
  • Must be willing to train new personnel to ensure standards and outcomes are sustained
  • Must ensure teams are adhering to establish Configuration, Changes and Release Management processes and methodologies to minimize program risk
  • Familiarity with DoDAF 2.0 Architectures, Risks Management Framework processes and deliverables
  • Engaged and motivating servant leader focused on fostering a “People First, Mission Always” culture of excellence

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS degree; or 8 years of recent and relevant experience
  • 5+ years of DoD Change, Configuration and Release Management experience
  • 5+ years providing support to US Special Operations Forces is required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Configuration Manager overseeing CM requirements and compliance as it pertains to the Design, Development, Engineering, Integration, Testing, Fielding and sustainment of in-garrison, deployed legacy C2 or C4ISR products and services; and/or cloud-based solutions and services
  • Recent and relevant experience as a Lead Configuration Manager overseeing Configuration, Change and Release Management activities supporting engineering and sustainment teams in the design, development, integration, testing, certification, fielding and sustainment of enterprise-level, multi-domain solutions and services across disparate, geographically separated environments with emphasis on the following technologies and/or services being delivered to the client;
    • Radio Frequency, Tactical Data Links, Networks, SATCOM, Wireless, Mobility Services, 24/7/365 Service Desk Operations, Cloud Services, Airborne/Platform Integration Services, Deployed Support Services, Software D&E Services, Training Development Services, Project Management (e.g. PMI, Agile/Scrum, Kanban, etc)
  • The preferred candidate will have the following completed the following training;
