As the selected Data Manager, you will be responsible for the following (not limited to):
Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging external and Army-level data to drive business solutions utilizing Army’s compliance risk model.
Create rules and procedures for data sharing.
Mine and analyze data from external and Army databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Utilize a variety of data visualization techniques to extrapolate data from PEO SOLDIER’s proprietary model.
Ability to explain complex topics and analysis to a variety of audiences.
Work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis, and reporting.
Develop data architecture plans and drive the plans to fruition in collaboration with Data Owners and Solution Architects.
Define and enforce data architecture standards, procedures, metrics, and policies to ensure consistency and adherence processes.
Translate advanced business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, across multiple, diverse domains; Create, maintain, and communicate current and target state data architecture for data domains within an assigned subject area.
Guide application development teams in the data design of complex solutions and ensure that teams are in alignment with the data architecture principles, standards, strategies, and target states.
Participate in product development with leadership team meetings and communicate with advisors regularly on all matters regarding insights and technology developments.
Define the software architecture of the growing data analytics capability.
In order to be considered for the Data Manager opportunity with GDIT, you must meet the following qualifications:
A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
Advanced user of statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, advanced statistical tests, etc.) and experience with applications.
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
