As the selected Data Manager, you will be responsible for the following (not limited to):

  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging external and Army-level data to drive business solutions utilizing Army’s compliance risk model.
  • Create rules and procedures for data sharing.
  • Mine and analyze data from external and Army databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Utilize a variety of data visualization techniques to extrapolate data from PEO SOLDIER’s proprietary model.
  • Ability to explain complex topics and analysis to a variety of audiences.
  • Work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop data architecture plans and drive the plans to fruition in collaboration with Data Owners and Solution Architects.
  • Define and enforce data architecture standards, procedures, metrics, and policies to ensure consistency and adherence processes.
  • Translate advanced business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, across multiple, diverse domains; Create, maintain, and communicate current and target state data architecture for data domains within an assigned subject area.
  • Guide application development teams in the data design of complex solutions and ensure that teams are in alignment with the data architecture principles, standards, strategies, and target states.
  • Participate in product development with leadership team meetings and communicate with advisors regularly on all matters regarding insights and technology developments.
  • Define the software architecture of the growing data analytics capability.

In order to be considered for the Data Manager opportunity with GDIT, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
  • Advanced user of statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, advanced statistical tests, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques.
  • Programming and coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc. a plus
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
