Job Description

GDIT has an opportunity for an Executive Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia to join our team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Public Health Surveillance, Data, and Technology (OPHDST).

We are looking for a passionate and energetic Executive Assistant to join our team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This position requires an experienced communicator and detailed organizer, who will work directly with senior leadership and their project teams to support a broad range of administrative duties across the office.  In this role you will be supporting Support DDPHSS leaders and CIO Implementation Leads from across the Agency with administrative support by organizing meetings, providing logistical support, meeting minutes, and managing electronic filing and document version control and management.

**This role is fully remote; however, must be within commuting distance to a CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta, GA for occasional meetings.**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with preparing reports; answering inquiries, gathering data, and inputting information into databases and using some analytic tools. Organize study files, including data and correspondence files.

  • Extract information from various sources and prepare reports for use in data analysis for division staff and management as it relates to data calls and information as required by CDC Director and senior staff.

  • Conduct personnel onboarding tasks when new personnel join the team to include processing ID card requests, background check initiation, email account requests, and computer requests.

  • Assist staff with travel arrangements such as research for hotel locations and costs, purchasing such as gathering travel requests, researching cost estimates, and preparing orders and vouchers in CONCUR.

  • Act as property custodian for the division, prepare requests for small purchases, manage and control personal property within a defined custodial area.

  • Provide assistance with the scheduling and logistical arrangements of meetings and training events.

  • Document and distribute meeting minutes; compiling reports; and provide ad-hoc programmatic support to the division’s staff as needed.

  • Assist staff with preparing and processing documents and correspondence, checking documents for accuracy and completeness, gathering information, recording data, establishing and maintaining files, and transmitting information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years supporting senior customers in an administrative support role

  • Strong Microsoft Suite experience, including MS Teams

  • Experience managing tasks and performing work remotely

  • 2+ years supporting domestic and international travel, preferably using CONCUR or a similar system and experience providing support to travelers in the field as needed

  • Experience supporting multiple on-going activities

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality and discretion

  • Within commuting distance to a CDC badging office in Atlanta, GA

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • CDC, Federal contracting or Public Health experience

  • Experience using the CONCUR travel system

  • Experience with MS SharePoint is a preferred

  • SharePoint and One Note

  • Experience with CDC systems, including Concur (CGE), CAMS, VSTS, CRSS, UTAMS, CDC intranet would be beneficial

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail

  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capabilities

  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions

  • Highly developed organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as within a team

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task
