Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems, network, databases, and Web-based security
Research, develop, implement, test and review an organization's information security in order to protect information and prevent unauthorized access.
Inform users about security measures, explain potential threats, install software, implement security measures and monitor networks.
Generally responsible for gathering information necessary to maintain security and establish functioning external barriers such as firewalls and other security measures.
Define, create and maintain the documentation for certification and accreditation of each information system in accordance with government requirements.
Assess the impacts on system modifications and technological advances.
ISSOs review systems in order to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades.
TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or 5 additional years of experience in information technology.
Knowledge in risk management, security management, security models, access controls, network protocols, VPN, security architecture, and database security.
Certified CISSP certification
