GDIT s military health team is HIRING a Jr. IT Researcher to support the 59th Medical Wing (MDW), located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology (ST) office advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers.
Assist with the review and testing of medical device proofs of concept and prototypes.
Develop software development processes and discovery of efficient standards of practice.
Assist with conducting data mining/data repository research.
Maintain a broad view of emerging machine learning and technology trends.
Provide ideas in design and implementation of machine learning, predictive algorithms and/or in deeply interfacing with data scientists scaling and bringing machine learning into production.
May require occasional weekend and evening hours.
What You’ll Need (required):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field required.
Military Health and IT systems knowledge preferred.
Intermediate+ expertise of 1 or 2 main programming languages (C++, Java, .NET, PHP, etc.).
Database experience: SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle.
Proficiency in Microsoft office word processing software.
