The Systems Engineers provide advisement and design activity toward ensuring solutions are secure, accessible, auditable, and able to be archived. Through design reviews and recommending changes, they enable continued access to data systems, and review system interconnections for enabling expansion of use to federal partners in support of Presidential initiatives. Through periodic review and process-based triggers, they drive conformance of Procurement Data Standard Contract Data (Conformed View). As an expert in systems integration, they help to identify new or enhanced functionalities that will enable the system to be better utilized by all services and Agencies throughout DoD and other Federal Agencies.
Minimum Education/Experience: BA/BS, 2+ years experience
Must have at least one of these certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Server Professional (CISSP)
DevOps automation and Configuration Management
Networking, Storage and Security engineering
Experience designing solutions compliant with the FISMA and the NIST Security Standards and Security Requirements
Technically proficient in designing and implementing data center/cloud-based AWS hosting solutions, including solution architecture and cost estimation
Experience in network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies
Big Data solutions (specifically including Hadoop (HDFS) HDP, HBase , NiFi, ZooKeeper, and Ambari Metrics)
Database system engineering support for Oracle Enterprise Edition, Oracle RAC , Oracle Data Guard for Replication, AWS Oracle RDS, SQL Server DB – for Sharepoint, Informatica
Engineering support for ElasticSearch, Kibana, X-Pack, HSM with Luna FE (Safenet), WebSphere Application Server, Docker EE, NGINX (Docker Image), AWS KMS (Key Management Service)
Experience developing root case analysis, problem identification and resolution, and roadmap for problems within system design and implementation of existing and new systems
Technical proficiency in optimizing system performance and resource utilization through log and monitoring analysis
Experience analyzing business requirements and designing specifications for technical solutions and associated activities
