GDIT seeks a self-starting, dynamic, experienced configuration analyst who embraces change and the learning of new tools and procedures.   Working in a hybrid work environment (50% home and 50% at a Navy facility closest to home in either Yorktown, VA, Norfolk VA, or Mechanicsburg, PA) this individual provides critical support to the US Navy’s Ordinance Information System (OIS) Program ensuring its 24/7/365 availability to Naval forces around the world.  

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • CM planning of OIS projects and the configuration management of all OIS developed application software; to include, identification, status accounting, audit processing, code compilation, version control, lifecycle history, and all Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation

  • Maintenance of the Configuration Management Tracking System (CMTS), Azure DevOps, and perform all software tracking and code updates via Configuration Change Requests (CCRs), Internal Review Boards (IRBs), Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and Configuration Management Boards (CMBs)

  • Accountability for code integrity, approving code naming standards, and code movement across servers, directories, and networks (unclassified and classified); ensuring knowledge and verification of its placement at all times, from development to production

  • Granting roles and permissions for individual access to the CMTS

  • Building monthly Ordnance Information Systems-Retail Partial Connect (OIS-RPC) application baselines for afloat and ashore units

  • Generating metrics, conducting audits on all production code, and ensuring compliance with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) standards

  • Recommending changes to the program office on streamlining processes, updating CM documentation, and assist in leading software development team meetings

  • Preparing all IRB meeting agendas, and support all program office and customer data calls

In addition to a high-level working knowledge of information systems development and other work in the client/server field, or related fields. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience:

  • Communicating orally and in writing and a positive customer service attitude

  • Establishing and maintaining a process for tracking the life cycle development of all hardware implementation and software development efforts

  • Maintaining continuity and integrity of configuration management artifacts while ensuring conformity to all pertinent processes, procedures, directives and regulations

  • Overseeing formal and information documentation reviews and making recommendations consistent with program direction

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining middleware applications on windows machines

  • Using basic UNIX commands to move files around and between servers and environments

  • Developing Metrics and providing them in format ready for reporting

  • With Azure DevOps, Tectia Client and Reflections Client

  • Experience with Agile software development processes and practices highly desired

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship and a DOD Secret Clearance required

  • BA/BS degree

  • 2+ years experience

In-depth knowledge of the following:

  • Support for User Experience

  • Ability to conduct and utilize user research to create personas for website

  • Ability to conduct user research, usability testing, and site evaluation

  • Ability to perform IT research and analysis

  • Ability to interact collaboratively with customer and in-house staff

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and managerial staff
