Description

GDIT has an opportunity for a dynamic Senior Project Manager to support the Department of Commerce (DOC) Enterprise Services Shared Service Initiative (DOC SSI) program team. The primary work location will be remote with frequent travel to DOC HQ and Bureaus in the metro Washington, DC area. GDIT is supporting the Department in their mission to provide Enabling Technology, including Software-as-a-Service and Managed Services solutions to their clients. This role requires a leader who can drive strategy and implementation of a complex set of processes and solutions for the customer. The role will require excellent customer-facing skills and outstanding written and verbal communication. The successful candidate will have a strong program management foundation, including systems life cycle management for systems integration and/or implementation and will have participated in large-scale system integration or release management efforts; using agile methodology for development and deployment processes a plus.. Responsible for the cost, schedule and performance of components of projects being overseen. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing multiple teams, including subcontractors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Direct and drive the overall implementation of the solution, including oversight of the team involved in the architecture, external interfaces, security architecture, SaaS architecture, information architecture, and contact center implementation, if applicable
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources
  • Validate requirements and support business analysts and UX analysts in eliciting requirements
  • Oversee and review all design documentation
  • Oversee implementation and participate in validation of as-built products
  • Serve as the senior interface to customer management
  • Lead proposal and price responses related to the program  
  • Participate in planning and budgeting exercises
  • Serves as expert in an area of expertise or across multiple areas, providing strategic consulting to internal or external clients.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with client, customer staff, and end users.
  • Builds cost and estimate to complete analysis
  • Researches and proposes products, systems, and solutions as appropriate.

Qualifications - External

  • Years of Experience: 12 years of program management experience with at least 5 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to position. 
  • Required Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent in information sciences, business management, or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience leading proposal teams, and sales support
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of leading complex systems implementation or integration efforts, managing delivery teams, implementing IT solutions and processes
  • Experience managing relationships and dependencies with external teams
  • Experience working with business process management (BPM) products and COTS or SaaS-based implementations
  • PMP or CMMI training and practice is a plus
  • Drupel, AWS, Azure, ServiceNow experience is a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile lifecycle is a plus
  • Permanent Residency or US Citizenship Required
