GDIT is seeking a Project Management Coordinator for our team in support of the NIH National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). NHLBI provides global leadership for research, training, and education programs to promote the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases and enhance the health of all individuals so that they can live longer and more fulfilling lives. GDIT provides its clients at the NHLBI with project management and business process improvement support.
The selected candidate will directly support the mission of the NHLBI Project Management Support Services group to enhance the success of the Institute’s high priority initiatives and to improve project management activities by supporting high-priority, trans-NHLBI projects; developing project management artifacts; helping to prepare status presentations and updates; creating and maintaining project schedules; coordinating meetings and taking minutes and recording and tracking action items; developing tools and templates; and developing training and guidance materials.
This position is for full time employment with GDIT and will be based at the NIH main campus in Bethesda (currently remote due to COVID-19 restrictions). You will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule around core business hours.
Work with federal senior leadership and the GDIT team to plan for and execute high-priority, trans-NHLBI programs and projects, including project management and coordination support.
Support senior-level working groups and meetings, including meeting minute capture, action item tracking, coordination, logistics, and materials preparation.
Develop and maintain MS Project schedules; generate dashboard views and reports; experience with Project Online is a plus.
Develop project SharePoint sites and maintain content for various client projects.
Support project meetings with meeting minute capture, action item tracking, coordination, and logistics.
Develop project management templates and guides (e.g., charter template, risk management guide, etc.); maintain and update the intranet repository that houses project management resources.
Conduct presentations, brown bags, etc. on project management templates and guides.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and five years experience
Experience in Microsoft Project and scheduling best practices.
Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
MS SharePoint experience
Ability to obtain NIH suitability (to obtain an NIH badge).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent listening skills; including the ability to capture detailed information generated from fast-paced meetings.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize important, competing tasks and information.
Comfort in interacting with and presenting to federal senior leadership.
Ability to ensure consistency of fact and style across efforts and materials.
Flexible and positive attitude in the face of challenges and ambiguity.
