Job Description Summary:
GDIT’s IBD-SS program has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Representative (FSR) in Germany supporting the Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS, AN/VSS-6A).
The HMDS provides a solution to mitigate gaps identified in the Explosive Hazards (EH) Defeat Initial Capabilities Document (ICD) and the Mobility through Urban and Complex Terrain ICD for Route and Area Clearance units.
The HMDS addresses route clearance gaps from the ICDs in “mobility, standoff detection, marking, and force protection” against a broad spectrum of worldwide EH including surface-laid, buried, and concealed landmines; Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs); Unexploded Ordnance (UXO); pressure activated trigger mechanisms; and caches. The operator for the HMDS systems is the 12B Combat Engineer and will be supported by the HMDS FSR.
Primary Duties:
Must be capable of performing complex analysis of system operations of the HMDS
Must have knowledge of and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components
Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components
Must be capable of complex system maintenance and analysis functions including hardware configurations, adding, removing, and replacing hardware components; use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools; reading of electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards
Performs site surveys to determine type and placement of systems
Installs and de-installs systems and their components and trains operators and end users
Updates databases, informs HMDS Lead of job status and any issues encountered
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
Interfaces with US military and civilian personnel on behalf of the IBD-SS program manager
Must be self-motivated and able to perform complex tasks with little to no supervision
Experienced in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail
Tracks and updates work orders to include the replacement of parts component serial numbers removed and replaced
May travel via military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas
Skilled using hand tools, power tools, and electronics measuring and test equipment
Ability to perform minor maintenance on generators such as changing oil and filter
Must have the ability to generate/produce data and reports
Interact and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers
Possesses a US passport that will not expire for at least 2 or more years and must have at least 4 consecutive blank pages for country visas
Must be capable of meeting standards of fitness for deployment in support of assigned customer (as required)
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience with Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles
Previous experience with fielding programs
Previous experience with counter explosive hazard (CEH) technologies
Previous experience with installation and integration of computer, electronic and mechanical systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience
Education Required:
BA/BS + 5-8 yrs. experience (12 yrs. exp. in lieu of a degree)
Security Clearance:
Current US Secret security clearance
