Warehouse Manager to support an Industrial Fabrication Shop that welds, machines, paints and builds foundations, assemblies, fixtures and platforms which are installed onboard Navy ships.

Job Description:

  • supervise material storage, receipt, transfer and delivery
  • maintain and retain related records, review production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders
  • confer with shop supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials
  • expedite processing of raw material and finished products, according to pre-determined schedules and priorities
  • locate and move raw materials and parts to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and record quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand
  • direct forklift Operator or Material Handlers to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas
  • compare work ticket specifications with material at work stations to verify appropriateness of material in use
  • update material status records in JobBoss (Shop Management software database); print labels
  • photograph finished products before packaging; retain and store picture files
  • prepare finished product shipments; pack, wrap, label, print delivery ticket paperwork
  • arrange and coordinate product deliveries; retain, organize and store delivery records
  • requisition raw material, supplies and tools
  • maintain a tool / equipment / supplies store room and inventory; maintain proper stock levels based on usage
  • update and maintain inventory records, using computer


  • Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of education; professional training; or work/military experience
  • 5+ years of experience experience working in an industrial or fabrication shop
  • Able to read and interpret Bill of Materials and drawings
  • Must be a team player with strong communication, collaboration, active listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and possess good organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS applications, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel
  • Experience with JobBOSS (Shop Management Software) or other inventory database is preferred
