Our work depends on a UX/UI Software Developer joining our team to support our client activities in Chantilly, VA.
At GDIT, our employees are driven, resourceful, and unwavering. As a Software Developer, you will be trusted to work on UX/UI development/coding work. In this role, a typical day will include:
You will be working mostly with User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) development/coding work (Vue and more), but also some designer work. You will be able to make the visual elements of an application and website functional, intuitive, and easy to navigate for users, including coding and design work. In addition to ensuring the aesthetic and creative aspects of the interface, you will focus on making these visual elements function smoothly and coherently. This includes user and application/product research; creating wireframes and user flows; working prototypes; building mockups; and front-end implementation. You should be familiar with meeting Section 508 and/or WCAG compliance.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Experience with HTML, CSS, Vue.js (vanilla and Nuxt.js), Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS.
Experience with building mockups in PowerPoint as well either Axure or Adobe XD.
UI/UX Certification is a plus.
Work Hours: Typically M-F 8-4 or 9-5 (some flexibility with hours).
BA/BS degree (or equivalent work experience), 8+ years of experience.
