Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Applications Tester

As a Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Applications Tester supporting the customer, you will be trusted to work alongside existing test team members to test all application components from the user interface to the backend and shall make use of automated as well as manual test methodologies. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • The test team lead shall work closely with the sponsor to ensure that software deliverables meet acceptance criteria defined for the
  • Document and maintain a list of bug reports and enhancement requests.
  • Responsible for overall program configuration management with respect to documentation, source, code version control, code
    deployment, and other program-specific artifacts.
  • Assurance of the quality of the software deployed and integrity of the data contained within the backend system and displayed to the
  • Perform data testing to include validation and verification.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test plans, carry out smoke testing, exploratory testing, regression testing, field performance testing at an
    eternal lab and automated performance and stress-testing of the applications within the sponsor’s portfolio.


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of
    education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience testing web applications, JIRA, Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Scrum, Jenkins, Protractor and Selenium.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with automated end-to-end test tools such as Protractor and Selenium un testing
    web applications.

Design and implement complex testing plans for IT related products and services

Identify test procedures and scenarios for the quality control of IT products and services

Use subject matter expertise to help resolve defects and errors of IT products

Assesses performance of IT products and services to ensure they meet established quality standards

Leads the collection and communication of quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to various IT teams

Provides subject matter expertise to resolve highly complex product issues and track progress

Identify areas for improvement to enhance product efficiency

Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meet end-user expectations

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology and trends in IT quality assurance. Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced personnel

May serve as a task or project leader (Not a people manager)

Recognized as a subject matter expert

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 15+ years of experience.
