For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. GDIT’s O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to serve on the Database Team for this large, complex task order. The successful candidate will have excellent skills in creating and maintaining Oracle RAC, Oracle dataguard, Oracle ASM, AIX shell scripts, and OEM monitoring and possess excellent communication skills.

Proficiency in creating and maintaining AWS cloud databases is highly desired. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Creating and maintaining Oracle RAC/ASM and Data Guarded Databases
Applying Oracle Grid Infrastructure and RDBMS patches
Standardizing and documenting procedures for team members
Establishing and maintaining AIX shell scripts
Create and maintain AWS Postgres, Redshift, Aurora

Required Skills / Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship
DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
BA/BS or equivalent, 8+ years of experience
Experience with Oracle RAC
Experience with Oracle ASM
Experience with AIX and Unix scripting
Strong knowledge of Database Restore and Recovery procedures
Strong knowledge of Oracle internals

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
10+ years of relevant experience
Experience with Golden Gate
Experience with AWS Database technologies
Expertise with large scale, enterprise IT O&M, technologies, and programs
Currency in automated code scanning, automated testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous assessment concepts and technologies
Experience implementing secure DevOps methodologies
Experience with biometric technologies and programs

The likely salary range for this position is $80,800 - $121,200, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
