At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on a Senior Web Developer with database skills joining our Web Application Services team to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The team has been very successful with developing both the FAA DroneZone and LAANC applications used to monitor Drone operations and has plans to expand those applications. This position is 100% remote and requires U.S. Citizenship.
The successful candidate will be an experienced developer that has worked in multiple domains and has significant experience building web applications from start to finish. You have developed web applications that include architectural characteristics like scalability, reliability, elasticity, security and resiliency using modern development tools. You have experience in optimizing development for a cloud environment. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and develop new web applications and services and be a major contributor to migrating existing applications and services to new solutions.
Maintain and support existing web applications, including some non-business hours.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field and a minimum of 10 years’ web development experience. A different engineering, scientific or technical degree in combination with relevant work experience may be considered.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Experience developing robust, enterprise-class web sites.
Experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, full-stack development.
Experience in a cloud environment; AWS preferred.
Experience with Agile/SCRUM/CI/CD environments.
Writing and tuning SQL and noSQL database queries.
Mentoring team members and collaborating on design.
With one or more object-oriented languages
With one or more scripted languages
Designing data models and web APIs
With distributed and event driven design
Working closely with users in an iterative development environment
With testing frameworks
Providing operational user support
Cypress Testing Framework
Security compliance standards
