GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer Senior in Kaiserslautern Germany.  Must have a current and active Secret clearance, and be able to obtain a TS/SCI. Must meet TESA Accreditation (see below requirements).

The Field Service Engineer Senior reports directly to Project/Task Supervisor.

Provide feedback and updates to the COTR (Government Officer Task Representative), the Contractor Project/Task Supervisor,

As the selected Field service engineer supervisor, you will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing daily maintenance operations of a Depot Maintenance Facility.
  •  Maintain systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff.
  • Accomplishes maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
  • Meets maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
  • Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Attend utility inspections as needed
  • Complete QA/QC inspections on residential installation projects
  • Work with Production Control Manager and Logistics Manager to order and return material and equipment
  • Complete all associated paperwork in neat and timely manner

Maintenance Supervisor Skills and Qualifications:

  • Supervision, Staffing, Customer Service, Strategic Planning, Developing Budgets, Electronics Troubleshooting, Technical Leadership, Technical Understanding, Equipment Maintenance, Teamwork, Job Knowledge
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Company’s CRM and ERP systems is a plus Attention to Detail
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Train and oversee subordinates to verify that they are performing all of their duties effectively. Ability to work independently and work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast environment
  • Ensure Man Hours and Work Orders Reports meet CDRLS deadlines. Ensure of running a clean safe and productive workshop.
  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
  • Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customers organization.

  • CPP Command Post Platforms
  • STT (Satellite Transportable Terminal)
  • Power Generation Systems
  • DRASH HVAC
  • ECS Cart
  • Familiar with CECOM C5ISR Platforms Satellite Systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship
  • Must have a current and active Secret clearance and be able to obtain TS/SCI
  • TESA Accreditation Requirements:  A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; an associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience
  • 25% Travel will be a Requirement and to other European Countries.
  • Candidate is required to performed other additional duties and assist other programs or department within the Organization in support of the Contract.
